Who we are

Safe AI in Law is an informal initiative operating in the United Kingdom, led by Martin Radzaj, barrister and AI safety advocate. We determine how briefing addresses are used. For any privacy question, contact contact@safeai.law.

What we collect and why

The subscription form asks for an email address only. We also record when it was submitted and the version of the subscription wording shown at the time. We use this information to send one monthly briefing with links to recent developments, research, and regulatory information. You actively subscribe through the form; consent is our basis for using your address to send the briefing.

We use brief, pseudonymous technical records to limit automated form submissions and rely on our legitimate interests in keeping the site and list secure. These are separate from the subscriber list. Our host may process technical request information needed to serve and protect the website.

Who can see it

Only the initiative’s owner can access and export the subscriber list through a protected admin page. The website and database are hosted through Codex Sites, using Cloudflare infrastructure. Those providers process information needed to operate the site. We do not sell addresses, share them with other organisations for their own mailing, or use them for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep an active address while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop including it in exports and keep a minimal suppression record to avoid sending further briefings by mistake. Our basis for that limited record is our legitimate interest in respecting your choice. You can ask us to erase your record completely at contact@safeai.law.

Technical anti-abuse records are cleared when their short rate-limit window has passed and the form next processes requests. Hosting providers may retain their own operational logs under their policies.

Your choices and rights

Use the unsubscribe form at any time to stop future briefings. You may also contact us to ask for access to your information, a correction, or erasure. If you have concerns about our handling of personal data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies and analytics

We do not run visitor analytics, advertising trackers, or non-essential marketing cookies. Essential sign-in technology may be used on the owner-only admin page.
